Examples of Flight Vehicle Modeling and Control Design
We demonstrate our services and design tools by a multitude of vehicle modeling and design examples which are divided into four categories and are presented in four separate pages:
- The Launch Vehicles and Rockets section which includes vehicles controlled mainly by thrust vectoring of the TVC engines and include propellant sloshing, structural flexibility and TVC actuators
- The Atmospheric Aircraft section which in addition to aircraft it includes missiles and reentry gliders. They are mainly controlled by aero-surfaces, TVC and by RCS at low atmospheric densities. They also include flex modes and aero-elasticity which is defined by aero-elastic parameters.
- The Spacecraft section includes vehicles at zero-g and in orbit around the earth. They include structural modes and are controlled by RCS, Reaction Wheels (RW), and Control Moment Gyros (CMG).
- The Control Design section focuses on control design examples. It includes detail flight control and attitude control designs, and CMG momentum management of several types of vehicles from all categories, mainly using the LQR and H-infinity methods which are implemented in the Flixan program.
